TxLIHIS conducted a survey of farm labor housing conditions in the Texas Panhandle in 2002. The videos on this page provide an orientation to farm labor housing issues in Texas, a video survey of the poor livinging conditions we found and our recommendations for dealing with the problems.

As a result of our work Represenative Norma Chavez and Seantor Eddie Lucio authored HB 1099 which was signed by Govenor Rick Perry in the Spring of 2005. The legislation establishes a new inspection and licensing system for farm labor housing in Texas.
